Petronas Tower Jump | 2001 Next Work >>
Single Channel video for Flatscreen Monitor| 03:09

In the Petronas Tower Jump video, the skybridge, which, in reality, connects the two buildings, was separated. This skybridge was built to accommodate the masses of people that need to move between the two towers frequently as part of the same corporation, it is efficient because workers do not have to descend one tower fully in order to have access to the second tower.

By disrupting the flow of people, the working environment becomes less efficient, and people are forced to take time to go about their respective destinations. The physical action of the person highlights this separation, as well as the huge risk required by the individual in order to maintain the designed function of the bridge. The player in the Petronas towers assumes a dangerous risk in order to maintain utmost efficiency by jumping the gap at the 41st story of the building, and furthermore, tempts accident by repeatedly doing so.
